Ways to Give

Every Warrior in care is funded by someone who chose to give.

Every giving path leads to the same place: a Warrior in active care.

Giving comes in many forms. Whether you’re making a first gift today, planning a transfer of appreciated assets, or thinking about your legacy, there’s a path that fits your situation. All options are explained below, with a way to act immediately.

Online Gifts

The simplest way to give. One-time or recurring, any amount. Your gift reaches a Warrior within the same program cycle.

Donor-Advised Funds

Recommend a grant from your Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or other DAF directly to WHF, a hassle-free, tax-smart path.

Securities & Stock

Donate appreciated stock or securities directly. Avoid capital gains tax and receive a full fair-market-value deduction.

IRA Charitable Distribution

If you're 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA counts toward your RMD and is excluded from taxable income.

Real Estate

Donate property (home, commercial, land) to WHF. Avoid capital gains, receive an income tax deduction, and remove the burdens of ownership. $25,000 minimum.

Planned Giving

Leave a legacy through a bequest in your will, a charitable remainder trust, or a beneficiary designation on a retirement account or insurance policy.

Donor-Advised Funds

Recommend a grant from your DAF.

If you have a donor-advised fund with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or another sponsoring organization, you can recommend a grant directly to WHF. DAF gifts are one of the easiest ways to make a hassle-free, high-impact gift.

Simply log in to your DAF account, search for Warrior Health Foundation or enter the EIN, and recommend your grant. Most sponsoring organizations process recommendations within a few business days.

Securities & Stock

Donate appreciated stock. Give more, tax less.

Donating appreciated securities (stocks, bonds, or mutual funds) directly to WHF avoids capital gains tax entirely and may provide a full fair-market-value deduction. It is one of the most tax-efficient ways to give.

Consult your financial advisor to confirm this is right for your situation. To initiate a transfer, use the brokerage details at right and notify WHF so we can confirm receipt.

IRA Charitable Distribution

Over 70½? Your IRA can give directly.

If you are 70½ or older, you may make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), a direct transfer from your IRA custodian to WHF. QCDs are excluded from your taxable income and count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD).

Up to $105,000 per year may be given this way. It is one of the most tax-efficient giving vehicles available to retirees. The process is straightforward: simply contact your IRA custodian and instruct them to send a check directly to WHF.

Real Estate

Donate property. Maximum impact, zero capital gains.

You can donate real property (a home, vacation property, commercial real estate, land, or oil and gas interests) directly to WHF. A real estate gift can generate significant tax benefits while supporting Warriors in care.

Eligibility is subject to WHF review. We recommend consulting a tax advisor or estate attorney before proceeding. WHF will conduct due diligence on all real estate gifts.

Planned Giving

A legacy that outlasts you.

Bequest in Your Will

Name WHF as a beneficiary in your will or living trust. A bequest can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residual after other bequests are satisfied. It is one of the most common and flexible forms of planned giving, and requires no action during your lifetime.

Charitable Remainder Trust

Transfer assets into a trust that pays you (or a named beneficiary) income during your lifetime. At the end of the trust period, the remainder passes to WHF. CRTs can reduce your current income tax, bypass capital gains, and remove assets from your taxable estate.

Beneficiary Designation

Name WHF as beneficiary on a retirement account (IRA, 401k), life insurance policy, or bank account. Because these assets often carry heavy income tax burdens for individual heirs, leaving them to charity is especially tax-efficient. Simple to set up. No attorney required..

WHF’s full legal name: Warrior Health Foundation, Inc. · EIN: 81-5267947

Matching Gifts

Your employer may double your gift.

Many employers match employee charitable donations, sometimes 2:1 or 3:1. Search below to find out if your company matches gifts to WHF, then submit a matching gift request through your employer’s HR portal.

501(c)(3) Public Charity

All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
